LayersApart operates LayersApart at layersapart.com. This page describes what actually happens to your data when you use the site.
Your account
To split images you sign in with your email address. We send a one-time code to that address. We store your email, a hashed placeholder password, your credit balance, your purchase records and a log of the AI requests you made (time, model, number of images, credits charged). This data is stored on our server in the Netherlands.
After you sign in, your browser keeps a sign-in token in local storage so you stay signed in. The site sets no cookies.
Your images
- Your browser may resize your image (to at most 2560 pixels on the long side) and then uploads it to our server.
- Our server passes it to BytePlus ModelArk, ByteDance’s international cloud service, which runs the Seedream model through its Southeast Asia region. BytePlus processes the image under its own terms to produce the layers.
- We do not save your uploaded image. The returned layers stay at BytePlus links that expire after 24 hours; our server keeps the list of those links for 23 hours so you can reopen the result, then deletes it.
- The PSD and ZIP files are built in your browser. LayersApart does not use your images to train AI models.
Do not upload images you do not have the right to use, or images containing other people’s personal data without their permission.
Payments
Credit purchases are processed by Stripe. Stripe receives your card details directly; we receive the payment status, amount and a reference. We keep purchase records as long as needed for accounting and tax law.
Analytics
This site does not run analytics.
Service providers
- Cloudflare: serves the site and protects it; forwards email sent to contact@layersapart.com.
- BytePlus ModelArk: runs the layer splitting model.
- Stripe: card payments.
- Our email provider: sends sign-in codes.
How long we keep data
Split results: 23 hours. Account, credits and AI request logs: while your account exists. Purchase records: as long as the law requires. Emails to us: as long as needed to answer and follow up.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account by writing to contact@layersapart.com from your account email. If you are in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.
Changes
We update this page when our practices change and show the date above.
